Recent CD releases featuring the compositions of Ted Pease!
Ted Pease remains active as a jazz composer and producer. His most recent compositions include: And Now for Something Completely Different, Spring Rounds (based on a theme by Igor Stravinsky), and Triple Play. These compositions have been recorded by The New World Jazz Composers Octet and are featured on their new CD, TRANSITIONS, which Ted also
On TRANSITIONS, nine jazz compositions (including the three by Ted) are linked together by short interludes, which were improvised by individual soloists or duos from within the octet. These interludes provide musical transitions that glue the compositions together into a seamless continuum. The result is a collaborative jazz suite - a complete seventy-plus minute musical statement that features written and improvised jazz styles as diverse as be-bop, salsa, samba, funk, third stream, and New Orleans parade music.
